Job Summary

 

The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology is seeking a full-time Lab Assistant-Temp in the lab of Dr. Cai, which studies neuronal circuitry and neurogenesis in the mouse and fly brains.

Responsibilities*

 

The candidate will assume responsibility for performing routine lab work and data analysis, including, but not limited to, creating and validating transgenic constructs for Drosophila lines, fly husbandry, fly dissection, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy. Additional responsibilities include acquiring and analyzing data under the guidance of a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills contributing to a strong team environment are required.
  • Applicant should be highly motivated with thorough, methodological, and accurate work habits, and must be able to work as part of a team. 
  • The ideal candidate has a strong ability to multi-task.

Desired Qualifications*

 

Experience working with Drosophila is highly desired.
