Responsibilities*

 
  • Participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care under the direction of the RN and/or provider supporting Pediatrics, OBGYN, Adult primary and specialty care and allergy immunotherapy. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service for both pediatric and adult patients by performing direct patient care including assisting and administering allergy immunotherapy injections/medications, immunizations, test and procedures, patient instruction, patient flow, administer and document injections/medications according to standards, prescription refills, preparing exam rooms, and maintenance dose allergy injections. 
  •  Must be able to interpret diagnostic test instructions, assist with procedures, and obtain diagnostic results from clinical information system.
  • Assist with patient calls as delegated by physicians or nursing staff. 
  • Manage high volume prescription renewals and authorizations following the established protocols.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Current licensure as LPN in the State of Michigan.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Practical Nursing.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • One year experience with electronic medical records.
  • One year experience within an ambulatory setting.
     

Work Schedule

 
  • Hours/Week: 40 hrs.
  • Shift/Hours/Days: Evenings and flexible schedule required, and rotating Saturdays/Sundays may be required. Orientation, training, and education may be at variable locations.
  • Location: Northville Health Center

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
