Michigan Dining is comprised of nineteen on-campus cafes and markets, nine residential dining halls, Michigan Bakery, and the Michigan Catering unit. Position Summary:

The Maize and Blue Cupboard Assistant Program Manager will launch and manage day-to-day operations of the North Campus Maize and Blue Cupboard (MBC). This role will also support the unit and divisional strategic objectives through the lens of food insecurity and sustainability. Direct partnerships and collaborations will play an important role in developing, and delivering programming centered on these efforts, with support from Michigan Dining and Student Life. You will report to the Maize and Blue Cupboard Program Manager with a responsibility to communicate with other Student Life resource offices.

• Support daily operations of the Maize & Blue Cupboard, including inventory, staffing, procurement, marketing, and food safety compliance.
• Help with budget oversight, financial compliance, and participation in budget planning.
• Coordinate, train, and oversee student employees and volunteers; manage volunteer systems and engagement.
• Develop campus and community partnerships to support food access education and resource awareness.
• Advise and mentor students and student organizations on food insecurity related projects, research, and engagement programs.
• Collaborate with academic partners and subject matter experts on food insecurity, sustainability and health initiatives.
• Help develop and implement standard operating procedures and evaluating program effectiveness using established metrics.
• Design training and educational programming related to food access, food insecurity, sustainability, and basic food skills.
• Partner with Dining and training teams to support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development for pantry staff and volunteers.
   

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, education, hospitality, or a related field.
• Experience working with students.
• Experience working in a food service setting.
• ServSafe and HACCP certification is required within 60 days from the date of hire as a condition of employment.
