Job Summary

 

The Department of Natural Sciences at UM-Dearborn is seeking applications for one or more LEO Lecturer I non-tenure track appointments for Summer 2026 term, which begins May 1, 2026.  The contractual full-time rate per term is $25,500.00. The LEO Lecturer I would be teaching one section of BIOL 320 Field Biology at the undergraduate level for the Summer 2026 semester (May 1, 2026 - June 30, 2026).  The successful candidates will be comfortable teaching both in person, hybrid, and asynchronous/online modalities for the following Biology lecture course:

BIOL 320: Field Biology up to 66.67%

Responsibilities*

 

Duties of this position include teaching undergraduate lecture and/or laboratory courses, developing and providing to students a syllabus and materials using the online course management system, evaluating and grading students, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and handling routine matters related to instruction and proctoring midterm and final exams.

Required Qualifications*

 

Candidates must possess an earned M.Sc. in Biology with relevant specialization, relevant teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence.  Candidates will be evaluated based on submitted CV, teaching evaluations, and relevant recommendations.

Desired Qualifications*

 

Prefer candidates who earned PhD in Biology with relevant specialization, relevant teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence.
