A Research Area Specialist position is available in the Michigan Institute for Imaging Technology and Translation (MIITT) in the Department of Radiology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Applicants will work with Dr. Shane Wells (Associate Professor of Radiology and Urology) to research, develop, and translate technology to advance clinical application of MRI, Ultrasound, and interventional radiology techniques.
We are a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team of scientists, physician-scientists, engineers, and students spanning undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral trainees. The primary focus of our translational research is the development and validation of quantitative imaging techniques (MRI and US) for patients with lower urinary tract symptoms. The primary focus of our preclinical research is the development and validation of imaging techniques (MRI and US) to improve tumor targeting and treatment confirmation during percutaneous thermal ablation procedures.
This work will include responsibility for translational and preclinical projects conducted by one or more faculty members within MIITT and/or in other departments. This work will also include collaboration with faculty, trainees and staff to ensure required regulatory approvals, resources, and workflows are in place for each translational research project to succeed.
The specialist may help prepare data and materials for conference proceedings, manuscripts, and grant proposals.
