Job Summary

 

As Section Chief, you will be responsible for   

  • Strategic Vision: Develop, articulate, and execute the clinical, academic, and educational vision for General and Preventive Cardiology & Hypertension, aligned with the divisional and institutional goals.
  • Clinical Leadership: Manage faculty schedules and clinical operations, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.  
  • Advancing Scholarship: Promote a productive and collaborative research environment, supporting faculty achievement and interdisciplinary initiatives.  
  • Fostering Education: Cultivate a thriving learning culture for trainees and faculty, enhancing mentorship, teaching, and professional growth.  
  • Faculty Development: Oversee evaluations, recruitment, and development.
  • Collaborating for Impact: Partner with leadership across the Division and Institution to advance clinical innovation, research, and educational excellence.

Required Qualifications*

 

We seek leaders with: 

  • M.D. or D.O. with board certification in Cardiovascular Medicine. Additional qualifications and certifications in lipidology, cardiac imaging, etc. are welcome.
  • Eligibility for Michigan medical licensure. 
  • Distinguished record of clinical and teaching achievement and scholarly productivity.  Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience in mentorship, education, and faculty development. 
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Academic rank and track will be determined by qualifications and experience.
