Job Summary

 

The Research Center for Group Dynamics (RCGD) at the Institute for Social Research (ISR) seeks a highly-qualified candidate to serve as Community Outreach Coordinator in its Michigan Center for Contextual Factors in Alzheimer's Disease (MCCFAD) Program.  The MCCFAD program builds on existing programs addressing health disparities within the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University and has a targeted emphasis on social and behavioral factors associated with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD).

Responsibilities*

 

Collaborating with researchers to plan and execute 6-8 monthly health-education meetings, Health Steering Committee meetings, monthly Community Partner Board meetings, an annual health reception, and a semi-annual newsletter for the Middle Eastern and Arab American community, while maintaining a database of stakeholders and overseeing all aspects of event planning. 

The position will include an emphasis on networking and engagement with Middle Eastern and Arab American communities to promote MCCFAD and its goal to bring awareness about ADRD and promote research participation among community members,  The Community Outreach Coordinator will promote, establish and maintain key contacts and relationships and be in charge of maintaining a Research Volunteer Directory, including using software (e.g. Ripple) to coordinate, track, and analyze MCCFAD event data and outreach engagement.

Alongside outreach activities, the coordinator will prepare and deliver presentations about MCCFAD and ADRD at outreach events, and participate in weekly team meetings.
