Job Summary

 

The INSPIRE Research Team is seeking a highly motivated Data Manager to join our dynamic clinical research environment. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain data collection tools for several large clinical research studies. Working collaboratively within our team, you will manage project timelines and serve as a key liaison throughout each study?s lifecycle?from recruitment through to study completion and data analysis. Success in this role requires excellent problem-solving abilities, independence, and the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential obstacles. Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail are essential. Primary leadership includes data quality tracking with pro-active adaptability to refine data collection tools and systems as needed, plus focus on short- and long-term data integration and associative dataset generation. We emphasize maintaining a supportive work environment, fostering teamwork, and encouraging professional development.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Build, Design, and Maintain Data Collection Tools: Build, design, and maintain data collection tools for multiple studies concurrently in REDCap and Qualtrics.
  • Data Management Planning: Develop and maintain study-specific data management plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), data dictionaries, and data integration among relational data collection tools.
  • Data Quality and Validation: Create and daily implement reports and queries to check the existence and quality of the data that have been collected with the tools that you are managing along with trouble shooting and addressing any errors that arise.
  • Regulatory and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), HIPAA, FDA, and institutional data policies.
  • Track Participants: Utilize the tools that you have built to regularly track and report out on the status of study participants.
  • Support teamwork: Maintain good communication with the research team and be a team player.
  • Participate in meetings: Attend team meetings to gain insights into the progress of research projects and to present challenges and solutions.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor?s degree 
  • 5 or more years of related experience
  • Advanced proficiency in the utilization of REDCap and Qualtrics for data collection and management
  • Advanced experience in dataset cleaning and preparation
  • Experience in designing and performing data quality checks
  • Experience in integration of data generated from multiple relational data collection tools 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, can maintain complex spreadsheets)
  • Strong organizational skills, attentive to detail and able to follow and action improvements to protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to observe and maintain data confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility for work in diverse settings and populations
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail, reliable and self-directed. Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team on multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Master's degree in biostatistics or health data science-related field
  • Experience working with electronic medical record data 
  • Experience working in clinical research studies with participant-reported, repeated measure, relational data collection
  • Experience with coding in statistical software with programs such as R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, or python

The INSPIRE Research Team, based in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, is dedicated to advancing the understanding of pelvic pain and endometriosis across the lifespan. Our research focuses on risk factors, underlying causes, diagnostic and treatment experiences, and the broader impact of these conditions on daily life and long-term health.
