Job Summary

 

The behavioral scientist postdoc will support (a) the analysis and write up of large-scale social psychological intervention experiments as well as (b) lead on other research projects of interest that align with the lab's research focus and mission (e.g., culture and behavioral science, psychological interventions for reducing poverty and inequality). On (a), tasks include overseeing and supervising analysis of the longitudinal psychosocial and economic impacts of social psychological interventions designed to reduce poverty and improve well-being in the Philippines (see more here: https://poverty-action.org/measuring-impact-aspirations-interventions-economic-and-psychosocial-well-being-philippines), running more advanced analyses (e.g., analyses for moderation/heterogeneity, mediation, social networks, text data), writing up results, and preparing manuscripts for publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. On (b), additional projects may be pursued based on shared interests and emerging partnership opportunities. 

Responsibilities*

 
  • Conduct data analysis, visualization, and interpretation, utilizing intermediate to advanced proficiency in R to analyze quantitative descriptive and experimental datasets
  • Perform literature reviews to address theoretical research questions
  • Prepare manuscripts and supporting materials, including figures and supplementary documentation, based on research findings
  • Disseminate research results through presentations, publications, and other relevant channels
  • Travel as needed to collaborate with partners and support fieldwork initiatives

Required Qualifications*

 
  • PhD degree or equivalent in social or cognitive psychology, behavioral science, cognitive science, or a related field
  • Experience analyzing longitudinal experiments on psychological interventions (e.g., behavioral science interventions, wise interventions)
  • Data analysis and visualization skills in R, including for more advanced analyses (e.g., analyses for moderation/heterogeneity, mediation, social networks, text data)
  • Demonstrates exceptional writing abilities alongside outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Demonstrated expertise conducting field experiments in resource-limited environments
  • Proficiency in conceptualizing and implementing social psychological or behavioral science interventions
  • Enthusiasm for developing skills in text analysis

Additional Information

This is a 12-month term-limited position with the possibility of renewal. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026 (flexible).
