Job Summary

 

The Business Development Manager - Philippines is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities and devising and implementing the sales campaigns and strategies in assigned markets; achieving revenue and sales targets and KPIs; informing marketing priorities; identifying and nurturing High-Value Opportunities (HVOs); and working closely with strategic partners and stakeholders within a specified region to meet business metrics.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Devise and implement an agreed business development strategy in the region and ensure that annual sales targets by product, revenue and region are met. Develop and execute sales campaigns regionally to obtain new business opportunities and build a sales pipeline to support sales and revenue targets.
  • Build and manage sales pipeline to achieve annual revenue targets for the assigned region. Continuously assess and report on sales cycle activity, pipeline development, and goal tracking using the CRM tool and ongoing communication with the management. Build relationships with key clients and partners to grow the overall size of client's English language assessment business.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with, and support strategic partners and key accounts, and build significant business with them. This will include channel partners, educational and healthcare agents, local and international education providers, and consultants.
  • Make recommendations for test center capacity planning in the region, ensuring that supply and demand of testing seats is aligned to optimize profitability.
  • Represent the organization in the market, acting as a beacon figure to corporate, government and educational stakeholders to position our business as their preferred option. Represent the organization at domestic and international conferences and events.
  • Other contributions commensurate with level and experience as required.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Minimum C1 level of English; C1 level of local language
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Good networking and relationship building
  • Strong customer focus
  • Competency in standard IT software packages, e.g. CRM, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience developing and executing sales campaigns
  • Experience in selling in the ELT or education sectors

  • Postgraduate level qualification in marketing, business, or a related field
  • Intercultural competence

Work Locations

 

Michigan Language Assessment is seeking candidates located in or around Manila, Philippines. Michigan Language Assessment supports a fully remote work from home schedule with occasionally scheduled in person activities.

Modes of Work

 

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

The candidate will be employed through the Manpower office in the Philippines but will work for Michigan Language Assessment.

Additional Information

 

Salary for the position is competitive, ranging from PHP80,000 to PHP95,000 per month.

This position requires both domestic and international travel for meetings. All applicants must possess a valid passport and the ability to travel. Additionally, flexibility in working hours will be important in order to accommodate different time zones.
