Job Summary

 

This job opening is for a Temporary Float RN position within the Central Staffing Resource Department (CSR) and services the Fetal Diagnostic and Treatment Center.

Wage: $55.00/hr. base rate
Evening Shift Differential is $5.00 per hour
Night Shift Differential is $ 3.00 per hour
Weekend Differential is $5.00 per hour

 

Unit Specific Summary

The Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Center (FDTC) is a multi-disciplinary program that supports the care of mothers and their unborn infants.  The Clinical Care Coordinator RN will promote open communication amongst the multidisciplinary team and enhance collaborative relationships with referring physicians. They will assess and address both medical and psychosocial needs in a patient-centered manner. They will participate in the tripartite mission of the FDTC which includes clinical care, education and research.  Qualified candidates will possess knowledge of perinatal standards.

Responsibilities*

 

?         Provide expert nursing care to the complicated/high-risk antepartum population through individualized assessment, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring.  Including coverage for all CCC?s in FDTC.

?         Facilitate communication and coordination of antepartum care needs within FDTC and the perinatal setting.

         Assesses health status and identifies needs of FDTC patients

         Advocates for individual patient needs by incorporating patient values in care planning

         Utilizes resources across the health system to coordinate clinical care

         Provides education for parents/families

        Collaborates effectively with a multi-disciplinary team

        Utilizes strong critical thinking and clinical judgement to trouble shoot and problem-solve system barriers to clinical care

        Participates in collaborative research projects with multi-departmental staff

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Current AHA BLS Provider certification
  • Five (5) years or more experience in inpatient obstetric setting, with high-risk antenatal experience
  • Proficiency in antenatal fetal monitoring and testing
  • Demonstrated competency in fetal monitoring interpretation
  • Successful completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course
  • Proficiency with Obix fetal monitoring system
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record

  • BSN preferred
  •          Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring preferred
  •          Limited OB Ultrasound Certification preferred
  • Experience as a float RN

Work Schedule

 

*Commitment is 32 hours per 4 week scheduling block*
Day shift, 8 hour blocks available

Variable hours between 7am and 5pm weekdays, typically 0800-1630

Location: Central Staffing Resource (Home base)

Inability to work for (3) months consecutively leads to automatic termination from employment

No guarantee of work at any time.  Shifts can and sometimes will be cancelled.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Additional Information

 

 TEMPORARY FLOAT NURSE GUIDELINES
1). All CSR employees are required to attend an annual educational Blitz to complete required 
UM mandatories and competencies (BCLS every 2 yrs., Cardiac Arrest and maintain all 
other applicable certifications).
2). Temporary Float Nurses are expected to work all shifts requested unless no work is 
available. It is the intention that all Temps will float to all units within the cluster specialty. 3). A Temporary Nurse should work 24 hours per 4-week schedule block. You may request four 
(4), eight (8), or twelve (12) hours shifts in advance. 
4.) Temporary Nurses in the CSR Clusters are NOT required to work weekends or holidays.
5). Temporary Nurses will participate in a newly designed, streamlined, onboarding/orientation 
program. However, the progression of orientation will be dependent upon clinical 
competency, staffing needs of the individual units, and the number of hours worked by the 
Temporary RN.
