Job Summary

 

We are in search of a Reporting Senior to join our team in the Finance-Sponsored Programs office. The Reporting Area of Sponsored Programs completes approximately 9,000 reports annually while ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines. Employees in this role will support the continued expansion of the department's highly productive and deadline driven research enterprise.

Starting Salary: $85,000

Responsibilities*

 

You will be responsible for post-award accounting of grants and contracts. You will provide procedure interpretation to university departments. You will prepare complex reports and/or reconcile multiple letters of credit to federal and sponsoring agencies and approve financial status report(s) to ensure compliance with university and sponsor requirements and regulations. You will participate in business process review and changes, provide guidance to internal and external customers, and embrace the Senior Level Competencies found in the Research Administration Series Competency Matrix, https://hr.umich.edu/sites/default/files/2019_research_admin_competency_matrix.pdf.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 8 accounting courses.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Google suites, and communication applications such as Zoom.  
  • 5 years of research administration experience
     

Desired Qualifications*

 

Prior Sponsored Programs experience.

Work Schedule

 

This is a full-time 40 hour work week position, Monday through Friday.

Modes of Work

 

The work requirements allow for the majority or all of the work to be completed offsite. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements, but is not generally scheduled on a recurring basis.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
