A Research assistant position is open to work with David T. Broome, MD within the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes, University of Michigan at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Applicants will work within Dr. Broome and his research team on clinical trial recruitment and retention, in addition to data entry and collection.
The research assistant will be involved in clinical trial recruitment for the PREvention of Cardiovascular and Diabetic Kidney Disease in Type 2 Diabetes (PRECIDENTD) clinical trial (ClinicalTrials.gov link: Study Details | NCT05390892 | Prevention of Cardiovascular and Diabetic Kidney Disease in Type 2 Diabetes | ClinicalTrials.gov). The candidate will work with a clinical research coordinator and the Principal Investigator (PI; Dr. Broome), and get the opportunity to learn about, analyze, and perform statistical analyses on a variety of imaging methods including, but not limited to, REDCap, MiChart (University of Michigans version of Epic (electronic medical record), and assist with data analysis (using R software, STATA, GraphPad Prism, and/or SAS software), and with drafting/publication of abstracts and manuscripts. The candidate will be expected to be timely, courteous, and proficient with recruitment for clinical trials and actively meet with our research team during team meetings.
Opportunities for abstract presentation in national meetings and preparation of manuscripts will also be available.
