We are looking for a Laboratory/Classroom Services Technician to support our Chemistry laboratory classrooms.

Your Responsibilities Include:

Laboratory Operations Support: Clean, stock, organize, and prepare supplies for multiple Chemistry instructional laboratories; monitor inventory to ensure equipment and supplies are available for scheduled laboratory coursework.

Equipment & Instrument Support: Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs; provide instructional and operational support to laboratory instructors and students.

Safety Operations: Support and enforce lab safety policy and procedures; communicate with supervisors, faculty, staff, and students to ensure safe lab practices are followed; report instances of missing inventory and/or unsafe laboratory activities.

Supervision: Functional supervision of work-study students; effectively communicate with supervisors, faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students regarding teaching lab support policies and procedures.

Laboratory Facilities Support: Investigate and report any and all incidents of failed or malfunctioning facilities-related items (e.g., lights, water faucets, and drains).

Associates degree in a science related field with 1 to 3-years' experience in an active laboratory environment; ability to move boxes and equipment weighting up to 50 lbs.; strong functional knowledge of various types laboratory equipment, instruments and glassware; strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and Google applications; demonstrated ability working with the public coupled with demonstrated sensitivity; ability to listen and deal warmly and empathetically with a wide range of people.

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biophysics with a desire to learn laboratory operations and support.

Coverage needed:  
Monday - Friday: 8 AM to 5 PM in support of our classroom operations.
