Responsibilities*

 

1.Culture cells and carry out directed gene knockout, biochemical assays, cell sorting, QPCR, Western Blotting, imaging and other molecular biology techniques on the cells
2.Collect analyze, graph and interpret data
3.Carry out whole genome CRISR screens and analyze the data
4. Help write up results and interpretation for grants, papers, posters

Required Qualifications*

 

Candidate must have at least a Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience with wet laboratory work and data analysis. This includes cell culture, cell staining, cell imaging, cell sorting, molecular biology techniques, genetic alteration of cells and assay development. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF?s and e-mail is required. In addition, the candidate must have exceptionally strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work both semi-independently and collaboratively in a research team, and the ability to communicate clearly with team members and the PI.

Desired Qualifications*

 

A Masters degree in cell biology or molecular biology is highly preferred. Working knowledge of concepts and methods in biostatistics is desired. Familiarity with lab protocols and procedures preferred.

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
