About The Job
We work with other LSA Technology Services teams, technology teams across campus, and directly with faculty, researchers, and administrators. This team provides and supports an array of technologies that advance the college's and the university's mission. We provide web hosting environments for both researchers and other LSA Technology Services teams. We provide endpoint management environments for Linux and Windows devices and servers. These environments have a heavy emphasis on research and instruction and provide many opportunities to develop new approaches while still meeting university and college policies and expectations. We support a number of museums on campus and their unique server environment requirements. Many, but not all, of our environments are virtualized, so some server room and data center support is involved. We provide hostmaster and webmaster services for the college. We also provide an array of smaller services in overall support of college operations.
As Infrastructure Manager, your leadership of this team and their services will include managing the ticket queue, ensuring project deliverables are provided on time, meeting facilitation, and finding solutions to meet unique research needs. You will also have opportunities to drive exploration of new technologies and approaches through recurring activities that focus on team innovation. Together with the Assistant Director of Infrastructure and Security and other stakeholders, you will build a strategic vision for these services, which will include service operations, service improvements, and launching new services when necessary. You will be responsible for multi-year hardware and virtual machine lifecycle planning, including procurement and decommissioning schedules, along with ensuring proper disaster recovery planning occurs. You will work with your staff to set priorities, provide responsive customer service, and support them through their career growth.
