Job Summary

 

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to perform the assigned duties for the daily operation in order to assure accurate and timely receipt, processing, and distribution of supplies. This candidate will provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers while implementing standardized work.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Maintaining records of materials in inventory and on order.
  • Providing information to determine the status of current orders and to forecast needs for future orders.
  • Compiling records of the amount, type, and value of material or stock on hand.
  • Monitoring reorder points and initiating action to replenish stock.
  • Reconciling discrepancies in inventories.
  • Notifying supervisor of irregularities and when stock reaches designated reorder point.
  • Compiling information on receipt or disbursement of inventories and computing inventory balances, prices, and costs.
  • Operating a personal computer and appropriate software packages or its equivalent 

Required Qualifications*

 
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar position. 
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. 
  • Must be proficient in Excel, inventory, and database software
  • The individual must exhibit a professional and positive image when interacting with patients, faculty, and staff. 
  • They must also adhere to a high standard of personal and professional conduct; possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; and demonstrate the ability to interact with a diverse population.
  • Candidates must be able to work effectively and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • In addition, the candidate must demonstrate problem-solving skills, proficient computer and keyboarding skills, and possess a demonstrated record of excellent attendance.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Associate Degree
  • Previous experience in Inventory Management within a medical facility/setting
  • Knowledge of University Policies and Procedures

Modes of Work

Background Screening

 

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
