Reporting to the Assistant Director of HR Data & Analytics, the Business Intelligence Analyst Staff Specialist will be a trusted partner in advancing the university's vision for HR data, transforming sensitive HR data into reliable insights that drive workforce planning and institutional success.

What You'll Do

 
  • Champion Data Quality and Governance: Develop a deep understanding of HR processes to implement and maintain robust data governance policies. Monitor and establish regular audits and quality assurance checks to ensure the highest standards of data integrity, privacy, and compliance.
  • Enhance User Experience (UX): Apply your expertise to build and implement user-centric data products and technical workflows. Plan and execute usability evaluations to ensure insights from user feedback are integrated into our technologies and data products.
  • Develop Advanced Analytical Solutions: Design, create, and manage intuitive data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that tell a compelling story and provide actionable insights for university leadership.
  • Drive Insight through Complex Analysis: Compile, integrate, and analyze data from multiple university systems to identify root causes of issues and deliver meaningful reports that support complex HR decision-making.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with team members and IT partners to evaluate and promote the adoption of new technologies. Serve as a project lead or key participant on new initiatives that support institutional goals.
     

Skills You Have

 
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant computer science or information systems discipline.
  • 10+ years of business intelligence, programming and quantitative data analysis including statistical analysis, data science and data management.
  • 5+ years of experience in end-to-end data product development, including rapid prototyping, user testing, and creating interactive visualizations, reports, and dashboards using business intelligence technologies for data storytelling to frame data insights.
  • 3+ years of User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI), or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) experience.
  • Knowledge and demonstrative experience in data governance principles and quality assurance practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Experience in data storytelling using modern data visualization software or coding tools and presentation tools for senior decision-makers with the ability to appropriately frame HR and workforce data insights.
  • Expert level proficiency in SQL for query design, data validation, automation and working with large, complex data sets to support scalable analytics.
  • Proven ability to investigate data issues, identify underlying causes, and implement sustainable solutions that improve data quality, system reliability, and user trust.
  • Proficiency in the use, configuration, and design of generative artificial intelligence tools and related technologies.
