Join a vibrant and supportive team of clinicians working to support and promote mental health and wellness across the UM-Flint student body! You will work with a team that values the health and well-being of all staff members within the department and actively engages in efforts to promote self-care and life-work balance. As a counselor within the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) office, you will provide individual, couples, and group counseling, consultation for faculty and staff related to student mental health, outreach and educational activities on various mental health and wellness topics, and mental health crisis intervention services. Your clinical focus will be as a generalist in the areas of short-term clinical work, group treatment, outreach, and community engagement work related to areas such as depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, and multicultural/diversity issues. You will report to the Assistant Director of CAPS.
Engagement in continuing education and professional development activities is supported and expected of counselors within CAPS. Supervision can be offered as able to support the pursuit of full clinical licensure. We are committed to building a culturally humble staff who can serve the needs of our diverse student body.
