12 East is a 32-bed Pediatric Medical-Surgical Unit that provides care to patients ranging from infants to young adults. The primary services include GI, pulmonary, pediatric surgery, OTO, plastics, general pediatrics, and neonate graduates.
The Clinical Nursing Director will plan and manage the clinical and administrative operations of a 32-bed Pediatric Medical-Surgical unit responsible for the following: assuring implementation of patient care and quality assurance standards; plans, organizes and evaluates clinical practice and educational activities; participates in planning, development, and implementation of unit policies, goals and objectives and standards of nursing practice. Counsels and evaluates the performance and clinical practice of the nursing staff.
This includes staff development programs and unit orientation to ensure compliance with practice standards. Identifies and resolves unit operational problems. Represents the unit on the assigned clinical area and hospital committees. Maintains compliance with Federal and State regulations regarding safety and patient care. Actively collaborates in the development of annual budgets; manages and provides variance reporting of activity, payroll, commodity, & capital budgets; participates in new program development & implementation; works closely with the Medical Director and Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) to create and support an environment where cutting-edge and innovative care is provided to a growing number of Pediatric Medical-Surgical patients.
