The School of Public Health (SPH) Environmental Health Sciences is hiring an LEO during the Winter 2026 semester for instruction in the EHS 672 course titled Healthy and Sustainable Food and Products - Life Cycle Assessment. The course is a component of the department/s Environment, Sustainability, and Health subplan (concentration), an elective course offering in the Online MPH in Population Health Sciences degree program, and a general elective for MPH, MS, and PhD students. By course description, the course focuses on quantitative decision-making tools towards healthy and sustainable foods and products. It helps evaluate production processes and consumption decisions by considering their human health and environmental impacts over the life cycle of products. Students will use life cycle assessment as a tool for evaluating healthy and sustainable foods and product options, across various sectors, to reduce the impacts of production and consumption on health and the environment.

Beginning date of appointment: January 1, 2026 - February 27, 2026
Duration: 8 weeks 
 

The position requires teaching one night per week via Zoom for up to 2 hours over 8 weeks (3 credits).  Day/time of lecture is currently to be determined.  In addition, office hours 1 hour per week is required (via Zoom). Course syllabus and course material preparation, coordinating guest lectures and course support, assignment development and grading, and guiding students are included in responsibilities. In addition, working with the SPH Instructional Design team on the course platform (Coursera) would be required. 

• Master's Degree in Environmental Health Science, Environmental Engineering, or closely aligned fields.
• Expertise in Life Cycle Assessment and health (theory and tools), identifying health impacts and proposing strategies for impact reduction.
• Expertise in applying the roles for good LCA practice to identify health issues in a production process.
• Experience with comparative risk assessment of chemicals in consumer products.

• Prior experience in teaching (or strong interest in teaching) undergraduate and/or graduate level courses.
• Familiar with Canvas Learning Management System and Zoom video calling platform.
• PhD in Environmental Health Science, Environmental Engineering or closely aligned fields.

Remote/Online during Winter 2026.
