Job Summary

 

The Aliabouzar Laboratory in the Department of Radiology is seeking a highly motivated full-time Research Laboratory Specialist Associate for a three-year term limited appointment to support NIH-funded research focused on developing ultrasound-based technologies for thrombosis characterization, and real-time drug delivery monitoring. This interdisciplinary project integrates experimental, computational, and imaging approaches to advance diagnostic and therapeutic applications of ultrasound.

Responsibilities*

 
  • Plan and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments related to ultrasound-based imaging and therapy.
  • Perform microsurgical procedures and assist with small-animal imaging and data collection.
  • Contribute to manuscript and grant preparation.

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's Degree is required. 1-3 years of experience in a related field. Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted, including relevant undergraduate and graduate student work experience. Demonstrated experience with in vitro and in vivo experimental methods.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • High level of motivation and commitment to advancing lab research goals.

Desired Qualifications*

 
  • Experience with ultrasound imaging systems and data processing.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB-based data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with microsurgery, and histology.
  • Prior contributions to peer-reviewed publications or grant proposals.

Work Schedule

 

40 hours per week

Additional Information

 

This is a term-limited appointment. At the end of the term, the appointment will terminate and will not be eligible for Reduction in Force (RIF) Benefits. 

Background Screening
