The Sociology department is looking for an energetic program administrator committed to student-centered and experiential approaches to undergraduate learning with a taste for program development and innovative pedagogy. The candidate will advise students and student groups, provide individual and group coaching to program participants, lead workshops, actively participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to the articulation of program goals and directions. The candidate will also help shape and sustain a vibrant student community dedicated to social responsibility and social change.  
The SOUL Director is an active member of the Sociology staff team. They will partner with their colleagues in the undergraduate/curriculum area in order to coordinate each semester's SOUL time schedule, course guide, and course enrollment. They will actively collaborate with the department's Associate Chair and Director of Undergraduate Studies in order to assure that the program is closely articulated with the undergraduate program's goals. 
It is expected that the SOUL Director will collaborate with university colleagues (such as in the Barger Leadership Institute, Newnan Advising Center, Opportunity Hub, First-Gen Gateway, Comprehensive Studies Program, Poverty Solutions, Center for Social Solutions, Center for Global and Intercultural Study etc.) in order to ensure that the program is collaboratively situated within the larger university community  and is meeting the University and College's policies and best practices.
This is a 33% effort, 8-month appointment that pairs with a LEO Lecturer I position (teaching 2 courses/semester).
