Responsibilities*

 
  • Instructional Lab Operations & Technical Support 
    Manage daily instructional lab activities, including scheduling, setup, logistics, and maintenance of instructional robot fleets and lab infrastructure (hardware, software, and fabrication tools). Collaborate with faculty and instructional staff to ensure labs support course objectives.
  • Robotics Garage Management & Student Engagement 
    Oversee Robotics Garage operations, access, and inventory. Support student teams, courses, and outreach activities, fostering engagement across undergraduate, graduate, and pre-college programs.
  • Test Facility Operations & Safety Compliance 
    Coordinate scheduling and maintenance of departmental test facilities (e.g., M-Air, Mars Yard, Water Tank). Ensure adherence to safety protocols and collaborate with Facilities for ongoing maintenance and upgrades.
  • Collaboration & Administrative Support 
    Participate in departmental committees, coordinate with partner units (e.g., Wilson Center, Makerspace, Mcity), and perform other assigned administrative and operational duties.

 

Required Qualifications*

 
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Hands-on experience fabricating components for robotic or electromechanical systems
  • Proficiency in fabrication methods such as laser cutting, 3D printing, soldering, assembly, and circuit board testing/debugging
  • Familiarity with Python and related software tools 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage logistics for multiple classes, lab schedules, and project teams simultaneously
