Job Summary

 

The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology (CDB) at the University of Michigan Medical School (Ann Arbor) is seeking a highly-driven scientist to work as a Research Investigator. The ideal candidate will be supervised by the Principal Investigator in a cell biology and virology laboratory that studies the basic mechanisms of protein quality control, as well as the cellular infection mechanisms of DNA and RNA viruses.  

Responsibilities*

 

The ideal candidate will lead a program focused on clarifying how the human papillomavirus (HPV) hijacks the intracellular retrograde transport pathway to cause infection. In this leadership position, the candidate will: 1) conduct their own individual research projects; 2) mentor graduate students and research technicians; 3) help in generating data for manuscripts and grant applications; and 4) write and submit their own grant applications as a step to acquire an independent position.

Modes of Work

Background Screening
