Ensuring there is an effective workforce to care for the growing population of persons living with dementia is perhaps the top public health challenge facing the U.S. in coming decades. The National Dementia Workforce Study (NDWS) is an $81M cooperative agreement with the National Institute on Aging (NIA), with the goal of fielding annual national surveys of the dementia care workforce across multiple care settings.
The mission of NDWS is to successfully launch the surveys each year and, of equal importance, to build data infrastructure and dissemination to ensure NDWS becomes a resource for the broader community of researchers and policymakers. NDWS data are made available to the research community for standalone use or for linkage with other sources of administrative data, including CMS claims and encounter data, at no cost. NDWS also hosts an annual, national competition for pilot research projects to accelerate use of survey data and linked data sources.
The NDWS seeks a part-time Statistician Senior to conduct analyses of NDWS survey data for varied stakeholders and to prepare documentation and dissemination materials to promote the use of NDWS data. This will be a great opportunity for a recent graduate interested in a research career. This position is right for you if you are well-organized, comfortable with data management and analysis, and looking to join a highly productive and congenial research team. This position is for 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE) and is 100% remote. The position includes optional domestic travel to in-person scientific meetings to represent NDWS 1-3 times per year.
