Course Description

 

Chemical principles applicable to the analysis of the chemical composition of natural waters and engineered water treatment systems; covers acid-base, precipitation-dissolution, complexation, and oxidation-reduction reactions; emphasis on graphical, analytical and computer-speciation methods; presented in the context of contemporary environmental issues including water quality, climate change and pollution prevention and abatement.

Responsibilities*

 

Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks one applicant to teach CEE 481/581, in Winter term 2026 (January 1 - April 30, 2026). Classes begin on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The class lecture is scheduled to meet in-person Mon/Wed, 9:00am-10:30am, Rm 2246 CSRB. The position will be 0.30 FTE (30% effort) and requires the lecturer be responsible for teaching students the subject titled Aquatic Chemistry.

Required Qualifications*

 

A master's degree, or equivalent education and experience, in Environmental Engineering is required. PhD in Environmental Engineering preferred.  Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience and knowledge of the course subject and of university policies and procedures.
