The Truttmann laboratory at the University of Michigan seeks to hire a postdoctoral research fellow to join the team. The lab is interested in ER proteostasis regulation in aging and aging-associated diseases. We use a combination of models (e.g. C. elegans, mouse, iPSCs) and techniques (e.g. gene editing, nanobody generation, small molecule screens) to identify, assess, and target novel mechanisms to mitigate aging-associated protein misfolding. Our current main focus is to study the human AMPylase, FICD, in the context of distinct protein misfolding diseases. For more information visit https://truttmann.lab.medicine.umich.edu/.

• PhD in genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, or related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills contributing to a strong team environment
• Basic molecular biology expertise and familiarity with imaging microscopy techniques
• Previous experience working with animal and/or cell-based experimental models
• Previous first author publication(s)
• Strong letters of support from at least one mentor and one mentee
