Required qualifications include a Master's degree in dental hygiene or equivalent degree and eligibility for dental hygiene licensure in the state of Michigan. Also, a demonstrated record of scholarly activity, teaching excellence, professional service, and clinical experience appropriate to a university setting. Scholarly activity should include evidence of contributions to clinical, educational, or behavioral research. Experience in leadership at the institutional, state, or national level is preferred, such as leadership in professional organizations, education programs, mentorship, committees, or initiatives.
The successful candidate will have an established reputation in academia and a vision for the future of dental hygiene education. Successful candidates will also have collaborative and interpersonal communication skills consistent with faculty expectations at a major university and the ability to contribute meaningfully to the Division's academic mission, strategic priorities, and national visibility.
