The University of Michigan Law School is seeking to hire a clinical professor primarily in the Zell Entrepreneurship Clinic (ZEC), with the possibility of teaching in other transactional clinics at the Law School. Depending on experience and in accordance with the Law School's Standards for Appointments for Faculty Teaching in Clinics, the applicant may start as a clinical assistant professor or a clinical professor.
The ZEC represents entrepreneurial ventures led by University of Michigan (UM) students and
alumni as well as local non-UM ventures. Typical matters include incorporation, privacy, financing, intellectual property, employment law, and other common early-stage legal issues. The successful candidate will teach in the ZEC's biweekly seminar, supervise law students as they advise clients, work with other schools and organizations at the University of Michigan in assisting startups, engage in client development activities, and participate in the law school's academic community, such as by attending and giving talks to the faculty, participating in academic conferences, and participating in the governance of the Law School.
