To perform a variety of routine or specialized tests and procedures for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of patients in one or more areas of work within the Division of Diagnostics and Genetics (DGG).Molecular Diagnostics, Cytogenetics, Molecular Genetics, and other specialty departments.
Testing & Quality Control: Conduct waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests, analyze samples, document quality control, and report results accurately. Testing could include Chromosomal Microarray, Next Generation Sequencing, Whole Genome Sequencing, and other molecular techniques.
Laboratory Instrument Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance, troubleshoot issues, monitor reagents, and ensure continuous instrument operation.
General Lab Operations: Maintain cleanliness, handle biohazard waste, assist with media and reagent preparation, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Training & Education: Support new employees, maintain competencies, and meet continuing education requirements.
Clerical & Administrative Support: Answer calls, document results, manage inventory, scan and file documents, and assist lab leaders with technical procedures.
Specimen Processing & Accessioning: Receive, label, centrifuge, aliquot, and distribute specimens while ensuring accuracy and quality control.
Other Duties: Support lab operations as needed.

This role will have duties and responsibilities in one or more areas of work within the Division of Diagnostics and Genetics (DGG), such as Molecular Genetics, Molecular Diagnostics, Cytogenetics, and other specialty departments.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Works with infectious disease and/or hazardous materials.
May have exposure to noise from laboratory equipment and pneumatic tube system.
Requires frequent (standing/walking/sitting/hand pipetting) for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 25lbs.
